What we do

Carbidea — carbide + idea. Your carbide idea, we engineer.

Carbidea is a cemented carbide sourcing and supply-chain studio, focused on custom parts. We do not sell from a shelf of standard products — you send us the drawing, and we turn it into parts that meet your print.

Our manufacturing partner mills have made cemented carbide since 1994. That history matters: it means proven process control, stable grades, and people who have seen the failure modes before.

Who we work with: small and mid-size equipment makers, and engineers validating new designs (NPI). We take the small-batch custom work that big carbide suppliers don't want — and that's exactly where we do our best work.

Small batches are our normal, not a favour. A single prototype part is a fine place to start.

Who you work with

Every order runs as a small project team, built around your part:

• Sourcing Engineers — years of experience in carbide purchasing, grade selection and cost estimating. They assess manufacturability and the process route as soon as a drawing arrives.
• Supply-chain Managers — responsible for supplier evaluation, order control and delivery milestones, coordinating multiple mills into one clear, controllable schedule.
• Field Engineers — stationed in the carbide manufacturing belt. We follow production and inspect on site, so you have visibility of every milestone and any issue is raised and handled in time.

How we work

Project-based and agile. We match the product to the right mill, work on material selection, follow production, supervise quality from powder to finished part, and confirm handover on site. Logistics coordinated through us. You send one drawing — we deliver the finished part.

To start: send us your drawing — PDF, DWG or STEP. We review it, recommend the grade and process, and then quote. The price is based on your print.

Six stages, one project team

From drawing to part, each milestone is reported to you.

• 01 Mill matching — your part is matched to the mill that fits it best
• 02 Material selection — grade recommended from the drawing and the application
• 03 Machining — pressed, sintered and finished to your print
• 04 Control — QC at the source, from powder to finished part
• 05 Dispatch — inspection report and material test report with every shipment
• 06 Logistics — export, customs and delivery, coordinated through us
